The molecular diagnostics market (Nucleic Acid Testing, NAT) is considered to be in its infancy. Compared to areas
like clinical chemistry, only about 7% of all diagnostics laboratories are using molecular methods. This is mainly due to
the fact that present day technologies are highly complex and limited numbers of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) tests are commercially
available. Several Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and hybridisation based (eg: Microarray) technologies are available where
a specific gene is amplified or identified, however, lack of standardization, complex interpretation of results and increased
costs of these technologies limited their scope. Furthermore, the present day
molecular diagnostics technologies are not economically viable for third world countries where many infectious diseases are
prevalent.
Our
DiagnoSensor technology is designed as a NAT with high specificity and sensitivity without the need of complex output and
costs. DiagnoSensor is a strip based DNA testing assay which will make diagnostics easier and faster to use.
